International manual country guide updates: November 2014
There are updates to various country guides in the International manual this month, including the Belgium, Canada, Finland, France, Germany, Jersey, Netherlands, Qatar and South Africa employment law guides:
- Belgium: New protection for employees against psychosocial risks.
- Canada: New work permit procedure, new health and safety training requirement for workers in Ontario and new obligation on public works' contractors to employ apprentices in Manitoba.
- Finland: Revised rules for job-alternation leave.
- France: New family-friendly rights.
- Germany: Increase in minimum wage of certain posted workers.
- Jersey: Increase in statutory cap of a week's pay for redundancy.
- Netherlands: Legislative changes from 1 July 2015 relating to termination of employment.
- Qatar: New health insurance rules for foreign nationals.
- South Africa: Updated information on affirmative action rules and enforcement, new restrictions on child working, increased regulation by sectoral determinations issued by the Minister of Labour and new prohibition on payments by an employee to the employer for providing work.
