New model letters and form on time off for adoption appointments

XpertHR provides new model letters responding to an individual who has requested time off to attend an adoption appointment, as well as a declaration form for the individual to complete. The new right is available from 5 April 2015.

• Letter responding to an adopter who has requested paid time off to attend an adoption appointment This new model letter responds to a request from an adopter for paid time off to attend an adoption appointment under s.57ZJ of the Employment Rights Act 1996.
• Letter responding to an adopter who has requested unpaid time off to attend an adoption appointment This new model letter responds to a request from an adopter for unpaid time off to attend an adoption appointment under s.57ZL of the Employment Rights Act 1996.
• Declaration form for an adopter who has requested time off to attend adoption appointments This new model form allows the employer to get a declaration from a joint adopter attending adoption appointments as to whether he or she is electing to take paid time off under s.57ZJ of the Employment Rights Act 1996 or unpaid time off under s.57ZL of the Employment Rights Act 1996.
