In LMC Drains Ltd and Metro-Rod Services Ltd v Waugh the EAT holds that the grant or assignment of a franchise agreement to carry on a drain cleaning business constituted a "relevant transfer" for the purposes of the Transfer of Undertakings Regulations 1981.
