  • Eligible employees are entitled to statutory maternity pay for a period of up to 39 weeks where the expected week of childbirth is on or after 1 April 2007. Statutory maternity pay is payable only to women who earn at least the current lower earnings limit for national insurance contributions in the 'relevant period'.
