6.785 The laws relating to discrimination and equal pay are applicable in Scotland just as in England and Wales, with a few variations.

Following amendments to the Equal Pay Act 1970 by the Equal Pay Act 1970 (Amendment) Regulations 2003, which came into effect on 19 July 2003, there are some differences in the provisions relating to time limits for commencing proceedings and limits on arrears in pay between Scotland and England and Wales.
