Summary
- Employers are required by law to consult employees
on matters that affect their health and safety. (See Consultation)
- First aid can save lives and prevent minor injuries

bodies are required to maintain employers' liability insurance in respect of

- Under the Reporting of Injuries, Diseases and
Dangerous Occurrences Regulations 1995 (SI 1995/3163) employers have a duty to report certain

- Employers must use a safety sign where there is a
significant risk to health and safety that has not been avoided or controlled by
the methods required under other relevant law, provided that use of the sign can

Future developments
First aid:On 22 October 2012, the Health and Safety Executive (HSE) launched a Consultation on proposals to revise the Health and Safety (First-Aid) Regulations 1981 (as amended) (on the HSE website). The consultation concerned proposals to remove the requirement for the HSE to approve employers' first-aid training and qualifications. |
