Are there special rules for new or expectant mothers employed on night work?

A pregnant or breastfeeding woman or a new mother must be transferred from night work to day work if, in the opinion of her doctor or midwife, her night work is likely to pose a risk to her own health and safety or to that of her child or foetus. If there is no suitable day work available, her employer must suspend her from work on full pay until her doctor or midwife confirms that it is safe for her to resume her normal duties, or until she commences her maternity leave.
