Can employees change their mind about when they want their paternity leave to start?

Yes, employees can change their mind about when they want their paternity leave to start. The employee must give the employer at least 28 days' notice of the revised start date. If this is not reasonably practicable, for example if the employee has chosen to begin the leave on a specified date but the baby arrives significantly earlier than expected, causing a change of plans, the employee must inform the employer of the revised start date as soon as is reasonably practicable.
