Do young persons have the same employment rights as people over 18?

Young persons have the same employment rights as people over the age of 18, aside from rights under the National Minimum Wage Act 1998, which provides for a lower rate for 16- and 17-year-olds. Different rights relating to working hours and rest breaks apply to young persons under the Working Time Regulations 1998 (SI 1998/1833). The Equality Act 2010 applies equally to young people and the right to complain to an employment tribunal about discrimination is available without any age restrictions.
