Does a period of mobilisation break a reservist's continuity of service?

A period of mobilisation does not break a reservist's continuity of service, where the employee is reinstated within six months following demobilisation. However, the period between the employee's last day of employment before mobilisation and his or her reinstatement does not count when calculating his or her total period of continuous service, for example for the purposes of a redundancy payment, unless this has been agreed by custom and practice or is a contractual obligation.
