If an employer delays giving an employee a written statement of reasons for dismissal can this lead to a tribunal claim?

Under s.93 of the Employment Rights Act 1996 an employee may present a claim to a tribunal on the grounds that the employer unreasonably failed to provide a written statement of reasons for dismissal or that the statement was given but the particulars were untrue or inadequate. An employer must provide the statement within 14 days from the employee's request. If an employer fails to provide a statement within 14 days, it would have to show that the failure was not unreasonable in the circumstances.
