Is continuity of employment maintained if there is a change of employer?

Under s.218 of the Employment Rights Act 1996, continuity of employment is not broken if there is a change of employer where the employer's business is transferred to another employer; the employer dies and the business is managed by the deceased employer's representatives or trustees; there is a change in the partners, personal representatives or trustees; or the original employer and the employer to which the employee transfers are associated employers.
