What are the requirements of the Information and Consultation of Employees Regulations 2004?

Under the Information and Consultation of Employees Regulations 2004 (SI 2004/3426) an employer may be obliged to consult with its workforce on key matters that affect employment. If an employer receives a valid request from its employees it will be required to enter into negotiations to establish a procedure for informing and consulting them. Should negotiations fail, a fallback procedure, as set out in the Regulations, will apply.
