When should an employer provide health and safety training for its employees?

An employer must ensure that its employees are provided with adequate health and safety training at the start of their employment and on their being exposed to new or increased risks. New or increased risks may arise when an employee is transferred to a new position or given a change of responsibilities. They may also arise if new work equipment, new technology or a new system of work is introduced, or if there is a change with respect to the existing work equipment or system of work.
