Workers aged 22 and over are entitled to £5.80 per hour. Workers aged 18 or over but under 22 are entitled to £4.83 per hour. Workers under 18 who are no longer of compulsory school age, other than apprentices aged 16 and 17 who are excluded, are entitled to £3.57 per hour. These rates are effective for pay reference periods starting on or after 1 October 2009.
