Note: Paternity Pay 2011: What additional paternity leave policies do or will offer, March 2011. A new entitlement to additional paternity leave is now in effect in relation to children due on or after 3 April 2011, allowing the mother to transfer unused maternity leave to her partner. If the mother returns to work with at least two weeks remaining from her 39-week statutory maternity pay period, her partner may be entitled to additional statutory paternity pay for the remainder of this period.
