Note: Fit notes 2011: The areas covered by retun-to-work plans for employees deemed "may be fit to work" by their fit note, June 2011. From 6 April 2010, Med3 statements of fitness for work (known as "fit notes") replaced sick notes. Fit notes allow doctors to state that an employee "may be fit for work taking account of the following advice" with the focus on what the employee can do, rather than declaring the individual only "fit" or "unfit for all work" as with sick notes.
