Summary

  • Employers are not obliged to provide employees with training, save for health and safety and under specific apprenticeship and training contracts. (See General)
  • Employees are entitled to time off on full pay to attend recognised vocational or general training courses. (See Paid training leave)
  • Under a specific apprenticeship contract, apprentices can receive practical training in-house and theoretical training in an approved training/education centre. (See Apprenticeships)
