This report relates to 1 case(s)

The facts

Debra Allonby was employed by Accrington & Rossendale College as a part-time hourly-paid lecturer in office technology from 1990 to 1996 on a succession of one-year contracts. In 1996, in order to reduce the financial impact of new rights for part-time workers, the college decided to terminate or not renew the contracts of employment of part-time lecturers and instead to retain their services as subcontractors.
