An Asian manager unlawfully discriminated against an Asian female member of staff when, because of his "cultural upbringing", he treated her less favourably than her white female jobsharer, holds a Manchester employment tribunal (Chair: C Porter) in Rawat v Kirklees Metropolitan Council and others.

Aisha Rawat, who is of Asian origin, commenced employment with Kirklees Metropolitan Council in March 1996 as a community forum officer, working as a job share with Cathy Putz, a white woman.
