The BBC is not a body against which EEC Directives are directly enforceable, a London (North) industrial tribunal (Chair: GE Heggs) has ruled in Lyn v British Broadcasting Corporation.

Mrs Lyn attempted to bring a complaint directly under EEC Treatment Directive 76/207 on grounds that the BBC had discriminated against her on grounds of sex in respect of access to its pension scheme.
