    In Tower Boot Co Ltd v Jones the Court of Appeal rules that in deciding whether an employer is legally liable for discriminatory acts committed by an employee "in the course of [his or her] employment", those words should be interpreted in the sense in which they are employed in everyday speech and not restrictively by reference to the principles laid down by case law for establishing an employer's vicarious liability for the torts committed by an employee.
