In one of the first decisions under the Disability Discrimination Act 1995 (DDA), a Manchester industrial tribunal (Chair: S Christie) in Hopkins v ERF Manchester Ltd holds that an applicant was not dismissed by reason of his disability.

Mr Hopkins was employed as an HGV fitter from 24 October 1995 to 11 February 1997.
