Fair Employment Act: Partner in firm can complain of discrimination against firm

The Fair Employment Tribunal had jurisdiction to hear a complaint of unlawful sectarian discrimination by a partner in a law firm which unsuccessfully tendered for part of a housing authority's legal work, holds a majority of the House of Lords in Loughran and Kelly v Northern Ireland Housing Executive [1998] IRLR 593. A contract by a firm to provide services is capable of being a "contract personally to execute any work or labour".
