In Finch v Telegraph Construction and Maintenance Co [1949] 1 All ER 452 HC, the High Court held that an employer's statutory duty to provide its workers with safety goggles for the operation of dangerous machines is a duty to put the goggles in an obvious place. The employer must also ensure that its workers are aware of the hazards posed by the machines.
