In France v The Chief Constable, Hertfordshire Constabulary a Bedford employment tribunal (Chair: C Tribe) awards compensation of £20,000 for injury to feelings to a male police officer who suffered stress-related illness as a consequence of unlawful victimisation.

Sergeant Jon France was manager of the Operational Support Unit (OSU) at Hertford Police Station from May 1992 to March 1998 when he was transferred from the OSU to the post of custody sergeant.
