In Brooks v Charleroi International Ltd a Southampton employment tribunal (Chair: J Simpson) awards compensation of £30,334, including £6,500 for injury to feelings to a 55-year-old woman who was subjected to "severe sexual harassment" over an 11-month period by her managing director, finally losing her job as a result.

Mrs Brooks, a 55-year-old divorcee, was employed between September 1995 and August 1996 as a general assistant with Charleroi International, an importer of furniture from Indonesia.
