In Ishaq v McDonagh (General Secretary of Labour Party sued on her own behalf and on behalf of all other members of the Labour Party) a Hull employment tribunal (Chair: D J Latham) holds that an Asian member of the Labour party who failed to get on to its list of approved candidates for local government elections, was unlawfully discriminated against on grounds of race.

Mr Ishaq, who is of Pakistani/Kashmiri origin, has been a Labour Party member for over 30 years and has held a number of positions in the party in South Humberside.
