Mitchelson v Radio Essex plc ET/3201226/96 (0 other reports)
A male journalist who was refused a breakfast show post because it was felt "artistically preferable" to have a female to complement the male programme presenter, was discriminated against on grounds of sex, holds a Bury St Edmunds employment tribunal (Chair: B G Mitchell) in Mitchelson v Radio Essex plc.
Mr Mitchelson, a journalist for 34 years, having been alerted that Radio Essex was looking for a senior journalist, wrote a speculative letter to the station's programme director drawing attention to his availability.
