Pickstone and others v Freemans [1988] IRLR 357 HL (0 other reports)

In Pickstone and others v Freemans (30.6.88) EOR21A, the House of Lords rules that s.1(2)(c) of the Equal Pay Act only precludes an equal value complaint where the particular man with whom the woman seeks to compare herself is employed on like work or work rated as equivalent. Contrary to the view of the EAT and the Court of Appeal, it does not block an equal value complaint if any other man is employed on like work or work rated as equivalent.
