The three applicants were all employed by the respondents under an arrangement whereby they were able to choose to work hours which were most convenient to them as married women. After agreeing suitable hours, however, they were then expected to attend for work on any weekday that they were called unless previously granted leave of absence or unless they were medically unfit for work.
