A sea-going WRN who, when she became pregnant, was told that she could only stay in the service if she would sign over guardianship of her child, and was later removed from her training course and dismissed, was discriminated against on grounds of sex, finds a Southampton industrial tribunal (Chair: I A Edwards) in Jones v Secretary of State for Defence.

Mrs Jones was a trainee WRN.
