A female manager subjected to incidents of offensive and demeaning opinions about, or language used in respect of women, including the expression of an opinion in conversation that certain professional women golfers are "dykes and lesbians", was unlawfully discriminated against on grounds of sex, holds a Birmingham employment tribunal (Chair: A J McCarry) in Owen v The Professional Golf Association.

Judy Owen was employed as a trainee manager by the Professional Golf Association in April 1998 (see DCLD43I).
