In Davenport v Taptonholme for Elderly People 24.3.99 EAT 559/98, the EAT upholds an employment tribunal's ruling that the dismissal of a care worker found by Sheffield City Council - the supervising authority for the registered care home that employed her - to have abused elderly residents, was fair. The reason for her dismissal was the pressure exerted by the Council on her employer to dismiss.
