In Kentish Bus and Coach Co Ltd v Quarry, the EAT upholds an industrial tribunal's decision that an employee was dismissed by reason of redundancy when he decided he could not carry on travelling to a different place of work after it became clear that his original workplace would remain closed. The three months he had spent trying to accommodate the different arrangements, on what he understood to be a temporary basis, was the "thinking time" to which he was entitled under common law before he reasonably decided to reject the new terms of employment.
