Sex discrimination: Compensation can be awarded on joint and several basis

In Way and another v Crouch [2005] IRLR 603, the EAT holds that employment tribunals have jurisdiction to award compensation in discrimination cases on the basis of joint and several liability. However, this does not apply to unfair dismissal, which is not a statutory tort like race, sex and disability discrimination, for example.
