In Alboni v Ind Coope Retail Ltd  IRLR 131, the Court of Appeal restores an industrial tribunal's decision that an employer acted reasonably in dismissing a pub manageress when the pub manager, who had been appointed jointly with her, resigned from his position. Although the employer gave the manageress notice of dismissal because it thought it would not be practical for her to continue to manage the pub alone, it kept an open mind to that possibility throughout the notice period.
