In Kabir v Bangladesh Women's Association a London (North) industrial tribunal (Chair: I Walker) rules that Sylhetis are not a "racial group" as defined by the Race Relations Act.

Mrs Kabir was employed by the Bangladesh Women's Association from March 1990 to the end of 1991 when she was dismissed.
