A pilot who was refused an interview because she was transsexual, was unlawfully discriminated against on grounds of sex, rules a Bedford employment tribunal (Chair: G Plenderleath) in Sheffield v Air Foyle Charter Airlines Ltd.

Kristina Sheffield, a former RAF and Britannia Airways pilot with over 25 years flying experience, underwent gender-reassignment surgery in 1988.
