A college lecturer whose teaching performance became the subject of college inquiry leading to disciplinary action after the commencement of race discrimination proceedings was unlawfully victimised, rules an Ashford industrial tribunal (Chair: I S Lamb) in Jenkins v The Governing Body of Thanet Technical College.
Black college lecturer Stanley Jenkins instituted two sets of industrial tribunal proceedings against his employer and others in February and December 1991, alleging racial abuse (see DCLD20I).
