Data Protection Act 1998 (Commencement No.3) Order 2011 comes into force

Implementation date: 3 March 2011

The Order commences s.56 of the Data Protection Act 1998, which prohibits an employer from requiring an individual or third party to provide information that the individual or third party has obtained in response to a subject access request under s.7 of the Data Protection Act 1998, if it relates to information held by the Scottish Ministers pursuant to parts 1 and 2 of the Protection of Vulnerable Groups (Scotland) Act 2007.
