Employment Equality (Age) Regulations 2006 come into force
Implementation date: 1 October 2006
The
Regulations set a default retirement age of 65, but employers will be under
a duty to consider requests to work beyond this age. Employers will only be able
to set a retirement age below 65 if it can be shown to be appropriate and
necessary. The Regulations can
be viewed on the OPSI website.
