Employment Rights (Increase of Limits) Order 2003 comes into force
Implementation date: 1 February 2004
The Order increases the limits applying to certain awards of employment tribunals and other amounts payable under employment legislation. The limit on the amount of the compensatory award for unfair dismissal increases from £53,500 to £55,000. The maximum amount of 'a week's pay' for the purpose of calculating basic or additional award of compensation for unfair dismissal or redundancy payment increases from £260 to £270.
