Employment tribunal award limits increase

The Employment Rights (Increase of Limits) Order 2017 (SI 2017/175) increases the limits applying to various tribunal awards and other amounts payable under employment legislation, including the maximum amount of a week's pay for the purpose of calculating a redundancy payment and the basic and additional award of compensation for unfair dismissal (which increases to £489). The maximum amount of a compensatory award for unfair dismissal increases to £80,541. The limit on the amount of a guarantee payment increases to £27.
The order applies where the event that gives rise to the entitlement to the payment occurs on or after 6 April 2017.
