Foreign offences added to barred lists to protect vulnerable groups

Implementation date: 13 November 2008

The Safeguarding Vulnerable Groups Act 2006 (Prescribed Criteria) (Foreign Offences) Order 2008 confers a power on the Secretary of State to prescribe foreign offences that may lead to the automatic inclusion of a person in the children’s barred list or the adults’ barred list. The Order can be viewed on the OPSI website.
