Freedom of Information Act 2000 comes fully into force
Implementation date: 1 January 2005
The Freedom of
Information Act 2000 allows individuals to submit requests for the disclosure
of information held by public bodies, unless those organisations can show that
the information requested is exempt from disclosure. The Act can be viewed on the OPSI website.
