Judiciary and Courts (Scotland) Act 2008 (Consequential Modifications) Order 2009 comes into force

Implementation date: 1 October 2009

The Order amends the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act 1974 (Exclusions and Exemptions) (Scotland) Order 2003. It prescribes that lay members of tribunals that consider the fitness for judicial office of a judge or sheriff and lay members of the Scottish Court Service and of the Judicial Appointments Board for Scotland may be required to disclose information about spent convictions.
