Legislation allowing trade union learning representatives time off to carry out duties comes into force

Implementation date: 27 April 2003

The Employment Act 2002, section 43 amends the Trade Union and Labour Relations (Consolidation) Act 1992 to introduce a new statutory right to time off for trade union learning representatives to ensure that they are adequately trained to carry out their duties. The Order  can be viewed on the OPSI website.
