National Minimum Wage (Amendment) Regulations 2015 come into force

The National Minimum Wage (Amendment) Regulations 2015 increase the hourly rate of the national minimum wage. The main rate of the national minimum wage increases from £6.50 to £6.70 per hour. The youth rate increases from £5.13 to £5.30 per hour and the rate for workers aged 16 to 17 increases from £3.79 to £3.87 per hour. The Government rejected the recommendation of the Low Pay Commission for the apprentice rate. The apprentice rate increases by 21% from £2.73 to £3.30 per hour. The rate of the accommodation offset increases from £5.08 to £5.35.
