Nationality, Immigration and Asylum Act 2002, sections 134-139 come into force
Implementation date: 30 July 2003
The Act provides that the Secretary of State may require an
employer to supply information about an employee or a former employee who is
reasonably suspected of having committed an offence under certain sections of
the Immigration Act 1971 or the Immigration and Asylum Act 1999. This power may
be exercised only if the information is required to establish where the
employee is or if the information relates to the employee's earnings or to the
history of his employment. The Act can be viewed on the OPSI website.
